Telephone Visits

To be eligible for a virtual visit or a telephone consultation a pet must have a standing Veterinary-Client-Patient-Relationship with Woodlake Animal Hospital. This means an animal must have had a physical exam performed by a Woodlake Animal Hospital doctor within the last year.

Examples of virtual or telephone consultations include:

  • General medical concerns
  • Puppy or Kitten behavioral questions
  • Questions regarding medications
  • Nutrition consultations
  • Long term monitoring
  • Quality of life discussions
  • Sneezing/reverse sneezing
  • Travel related questions
  • Parasites seen in the stool
  • Weight management

Any medical emergencies such as seizures, respiratory distress, trauma, collapse etc should not be scheduled as virtual visits, they should be seen on emergency basis as hospital visits.

The cost will be $40 for a 15 minute virtual visit and $35 for a 15 minute telephone visit. If it is decided the patient needs to come into the hospital for a doctor exam after the virtual visit, the client will be charged a recheck fee and should be seen within 7 days of the virtual visit. If it’s longer than 7 days, a regular exam fee would be charged.
