Dr. Meghan Lobb joined the Woodlake team in March of 2020. She was born in upstate New York, but raised from a young age in Chesterfield County. Meghan graduated Cosby High School and earned her Bachelor’s degree at James Madison University where she graduated with a double major: Biology and Health Sciences. Following graduation from JMU, Meghan took a year off to gain a better understanding of the Veterinary field. She worked as a Veterinary Assistant and found that she loved the experience and she became determined to become Veterinarian herself. Meghan applied to multiple post graduate programs and in doing so became exposed to the Royal Veterinary College (RVC). The Royal Veterinary College is the largest and longest-established vet school in the English-speaking world and is a college of the University of London. She interviewed with the RVC staff in New York in February of 2015 and in September Meghan moved to London, UK to pursue her veterinary degree.

At the RVC, Meghan was an active member of the Women’s Football Club and also participated on the Equestrian team. Her favorite British memory is of relaxing days at the pub with her teammates and schoolmates. While abroad, Meghan traveled to many different countries and loved all the different cultures, especially the food and weather in Greece! She also had the amazing experience of working in South Africa at the Amakhala Game Preserve where she worked with a team to treat rhinos, giraffes, water buffalo and eland.

Meghan’s small ark at home currently consists of Chance – an orange tabby with too much attitude, Koda – a Siberian Husky Malamute cross who is her fiercely independent best friend (and helped her survive vet school!), and Bella – her overo paint pony that was a rescue from slaughter and has the most loving personality!

After graduation, Meghan returned home to be around friends and family after her four year hiatus in Europe. Her interests in veterinary medicine include surgery, emergency work, pain management and preventative care. She is learning and expanding her knowledge daily with the help of the great team at WAH!
