Dr. Hartman was born and raised right here in Chesterfield, VA. She left to study Animal Science at Virginia Tech (Go Hokies!) and then went on to graduate from the Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine in 2008. After graduation, she returned and has been practicing in and around the Richmond, VA area before becoming a part of the Woodlake Animal Hospital team.

Dr. Hartman loves helping all of her patients, but is particularly passionate about helping geriatric patients with comfort care and support in their golden years. It was this passion that led her to seek additional training in acupuncture and herbal medicine, and in the Fall of 2019, Dr. Hartman graduated from the Chi Institute’s Small Animal Acupuncture course. Dr. Hartman is a member of the American Holistic Veterinary Medicine Association, and continues to stay up to date with new and exciting ways to help her patients.

Outside of the clinic, Dr. Hartman loves spending time outdoors hiking, camping, paddleboarding, or just walking the dogs! She lives with her husband Jeff, their two cats Pickle and Phasma, and two dogs BooBoo and Tilly.
